What is sports pick tracking?
Sports pick tracking is the practice of recording a selection before an event starts, then attaching the authoritative result to that original entry. A good tracker preserves what was recorded instead of letting the record change after the outcome is known.
What a confirmed pick records
A PickProof Confirmed Pick includes the event, selection, informational sportsbook label or reference, line, odds, unit size, confirmation time, and visibility schedule. Those fields create the identity of the entry. Once confirmed, they cannot be edited.
Event identity matters as much as the team names. A ledger needs the scheduled date and time, matchup, and event identifier so two games involving the same teams, including doubleheaders, remain separate records.
Why immutability matters
If a selection, line, or public status could be changed after confirmation, the resulting history would not show what the user originally recorded. PickProof therefore locks selection details and visibility timing at confirmation. A later correction to an authoritative score or grade updates the outcome attached to the entry; it does not rewrite the entry itself.
Immutability does not mean outside data can never be corrected. Scores, event states, grading, and market references may change when an authoritative source corrects delayed or incomplete information. The ledger preserves both ideas: the original pick stays fixed while the result can reflect an authoritative correction.
Units are recordkeeping fields
Units provide a consistent way to compare entries of different sizes inside a personal record. They are informational fields only. PickProof does not hold money, accept wagers, transfer funds, or calculate a balance that can be deposited or withdrawn.
Public accountability and private tracking
Publicly eligible picks can contribute to public records, leaderboards, and badge calculations after they meet the applicable backend rules. Private picks are available as a Pro software feature and remain excluded from those public surfaces. A user cannot wait for a result and then decide that only a winning pick should become public.
A record is not a forecast. Past results, ROI, closing line value, badges, and rankings describe recorded history. They do not guarantee future performance and are not professional advice.
What PickProof does and does not do
PickProof tracks picks, records, informational odds, scores, alerts, and verification receipts. It does not accept wagers, deposits, withdrawals, payouts, betting credits, paid contest entries, or bet placement. Data may be delayed, incomplete, corrected, or unavailable, so users should independently verify information before using it outside PickProof.
